Despite having an Afterpay account you still might have issues processing your Afterpay payment on our website.

We will show you one easy step that can be done to fix this problem so you can use Afterpay to process your payment.

What is Afterpay?

Afterpay allows you to shop now and pay later.

This is a payment option that many e-commerce stores use for the customers so they can break up their payments purchases.

With Afterpay, your purchase will be split into 4 payments, payable every 2 weeks.

Simply shop with one of your favorite stores found in the Shop Directory and choose Afterpay as your payment method at checkout.

As of 5 November 2022, Canadian customers are facing some challenges using Afterpay whether you're a first time customer or a returning customer.

First Time Customers & Returning Customers

FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS

First step is to select Canadian dollars as a currency from the currency selector at the top right hand of the screen.

Once that's done you can shop through the website and add your items to the cart. The next step is to check out.

The difficulty comes from (at the moment) the fact that Shopify has an option for payment processing call Shop Pay.

You can see the list of credit card payments available click on the red box on the bottom right that reads alternative methods of payment. Once that box drops down you will see after pay as a method of payment.

RETURNING CUSTOMERS

(1) You must select Canadian Dollars as a currency from the currency selector at the top right hand of the screen.

(2) Once that's done you can shop through the website and add your items to the cart. The next step is to check out.

The difficulty comes from (at the moment) the fact that Shopify has an option for payment processing call Shop Pay.

As soon as a customer enters their email address during the checkout , Shop Pay recognizes the address and a verification code box pops up.

(3) A verification code is sent to the number associated with the email address as a text message and the customer is asked to enter in the one time use code.

Once the one-time use code has been entered, a purple Pay Now box is generated at the bottom of the screen. If you want to use Afterpay as your payment option, do not click on the Pay Now button.

(4) Click on the link below that says Continue as Guest. After clicking on this link you'll be taken to a page that will show after pay as a payment along with other credit card payment options.
